A Milan judge found former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi guilty of tax fraud because of a film-rights case involving his television company Mediaset SpA. The leader has squirmed his way out of jail time before, however, and his sentence will be subject to appeals. He was sentenced to four years in prison and will be barred from running for office again temporarily. Berlusconi was forced out of office last year over austerity policies, whispers of corruption, and pressure from other euro area leaders.
