The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association has suggested bond trading should end at noon New York time on Monday because of Hurricane Sandy. The recommendation covers government securities, mortgage and asset-backed debt, over the counter investment grade and high yield corporate bonds and municipal bonds. It also applies secondary money market trading in bankers’ acceptances, commercial paper and US and European certificates of deposit. Closing time for settlements will not be affected by the recommended market closure.
