Correction: A previous version of the first chart mistakenly stated that the number of people who are “unemployed but have stopped looking for job within the past year” had dropped by 56,000 since October. The number actually increased by 72,000. In addition, the number of people who “do not want a job, have not looked for one in the past year, or can’t work” was also mistakenly stated to have increased by 966,000. It increased by 808,000.
