American wine critic Robert Parker is shifting the headquarters of his influential Wine Advocate newsletter to Singapore from rural Maryland, handing the editor’s job over to one of his correspondents, abandoning the print edition in favor of digital versions, and bringing in a trio of Singapore-based investors. The majority of his newsletter subscribers are American, but Parker said, “the Asian market has come of age in the last decade or so, and it would be unrealistic not to expect to be part of it.” Parker in the past has been called “the most influential critic of any kind in the world.”
