A military F-16 fighter jet and a Cessna plane have crash-landed off Old Highway 52 near Charleston, South Carolina.
The Federal Aviation Administration says that the planes crashed mid-air. Witnesses saw an explosion in the sky and plane parts falling to the ground.
The pilot of the F-16, who came from the Shaw Air Force Base, safely ejected from his aircraft, ABC reported. The Department of Natural Resources is searching for the other pilot.
This is the second crash of an F-16 plane on US soil in recent weeks. On June 24, an Iraqi pilot who was training with the US Air Force was killed when the F-16 he was flying crashed during a night mission in Arizona.
