Tax credit in doubt, US wind industry is withering

Unlike most other countries, the US production tax credit for renewable energy must be renewed by Congress every few years. Industry observers have long insisted that this damages US competitiveness in wind and other renewable energies, and now worst-case scenarios are playing out in US turbine production plants.
