Fall weather is taking a toll on travel across Europe. On Monday morning (Nov. 2), European fliers sat through more than 120,000 minutes of flight delays, according to European air safety agency Eurocontrol. Most were due to adverse weather conditions.
London was hard hit, with more than 122 weekend flights cancelled after the city closed its airports due to thick fog. But there, at least, the fog has also produced some magical urban scenes, with distant buildings obscured and spots of light twinkling in the damp air:
