One of the most important questions facing communities around the world is how to transition to more sustainable practices, business, and jobs. In some cases, the challenges are extreme. How do regions dependent on the coal industry find sustainable employment for their citizens? How do areas with diminishing water supplies shift their agricultural economies? Yet amid the challenges there are clear pockets of opportunities, such as the job creation in the solar energy sector.

At the Clinton Global Initiative America meeting in Atlanta, Quartz’s editor-in-chief Kevin J. Delaney is leading a discussion on these topics with Georgia Power CEO W. Paul Bowers, BlocPower CEO Donnel Baird, and Adrianna Quintero, founder and executive director of Voces Verdes and director of partner engagement at the Natural Resources Defense Council.

You can watch a livestream of the session here at 2pm ET. More details on the CGI America schedule are here.
