Venezuela’s ruling party candidate and acting president Nicolas Maduro has narrowly won the country’s presidential election, meaning the nation has chosen to continue with the late Hugo Chavez’s socialist policies. Maduro beat opposition candidate Henrique Capriles, who had campaigned for a more business friendly economy as well as promising to tackle violent crime and high inflation.
