US president Barack Obama held his first press conference since the election yesterday (Nov. 15), and most of the questions centered around president-elect Donald Trump and the two men’s first meeting at the Oval Office last week. Obama shared his first impressions from the hour-and-a-half-long meeting, describing Trump as a “gregarious person.” But, he said, “There are going to be certain elements of his temperament that will not serve him well unless he recognizes them and corrects them.” The president said he also urged Trump to reach out to minority groups and others who had been concerned about the tenor of the campaign. But Obama reinforced that the people had spoken by casting their votes in the election, and that Trump will indeed be the next president.
