Amazon $AMZN said Thursday that its pharmacy will stock Novo Nordisk's Ozempic pill — a semaglutide-based treatment for type 2 diabetes — at its kiosks and offer same-day delivery of the drug.

Customers who have a prescription can order the pill through Amazon Pharmacy for $149 per month when paying out of pocket, the company said. Those using insurance can pay as little as $25 per month.

Same-day delivery for Ozempic will be available in about 3,000 locations and is set to expand to 4,500 by year-end, the company said. The company said every customer receives their medication within four days, and same-day delivery is currently within reach for half of Amazon's U.S. customer base.

The Ozempic pill will be stocked at Amazon's One Medical kiosks, where patients can pick it up following a medical appointment. Access to the kiosks and the ability to schedule an appointment are open to anyone — no One Medical membership is required. For those who want full membership, annual enrollment runs $199.

"Amazon Pharmacy continues to provide customers expanded selection and reliable, convenient access to the latest treatments like the Ozempic pill for type 2 diabetes," said Tanvi Patel, VP and GM of Amazon Pharmacy, in a statement. "We are making it easy for customers to get the medication they need to stay healthy."

Injectable GLP-1 drugs, which must be kept cold, are not available at the kiosks — a limitation that does not apply to pill formulations. Amazon's pharmacy has been filling GLP-1 prescriptions for home delivery since 2021.

The Ozempic pill is the latest addition to Amazon's expanding roster of GLP-1 treatments. Amazon began stocking Eli Lilly $LLY's oral weight loss pill Foundayo at its kiosks in April, priced identically to Ozempic for cash-pay customers at $149 per month. Amazon has also carried Novo Nordisk's Wegovy pill — which uses the same active ingredient as Ozempic — at five kiosks in California since January.

Earlier this year, Amazon launched a GLP-1 management program through One Medical that pairs obesity and diabetes treatment with Amazon Pharmacy fulfillment, combining in-person and virtual appointments with medication management and delivery in one offering.

Last year's delivery expansion effort, which carries a price tag exceeding $4 billion, is aimed at tripling Amazon's logistics footprint by the end of 2026, with underserved rural and small-town communities as a key priority.
