On a per-share basis, the Framingham, Massachusetts-based company said it had profit of 64 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 69 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 60 cents per share.
The energy services company posted revenue of $441.4 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $399.4 million.
For the year, the company reported profit of $62.5 million, or $1.17 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.37 billion.
Ameresco expects full-year earnings in the range of $1.30 to $1.50 per share, with revenue in the range of $1.6 billion to $1.7 billion.
Ameresco shares have dropped 36% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $20.37, a decrease of 54% in the last 12 months.
