AT&T $T closed its acquisition of wireless spectrum licenses from EchoStar on Tuesday for approximately $23 billion, the company said.
The transaction brings AT&T an additional roughly 50 MHz of spectrum, according to AT&T, with the new holdings consisting of about 30 MHz of 3.45 GHz mid-band spectrum and about 20 MHz of 600 MHz low-band spectrum, both with nationwide reach across nearly all U.S. markets.
AT&T said the added spectrum is intended to boost 5G capacity and download speeds. The company also said it plans to use the spectrum to improve uplink capabilities on its wireless network, according to Reuters. The deal was originally announced in August 2025.
AT&T reiterated the financial outlook and capital allocation plan it provided with its second-quarter 2026 earnings release.
