Kate Dannies is a social historian of the Late Ottoman Empire and Modern Middle East and Assistant Professor of Global and Intercultural Studies at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Her research examines gender and conflict during the transition from the Ottoman Empire to the modern Middle East. At Miami University she teaches introductory and specialized courses in international studies, with an emphasis on the Middle East, gender and population, conflict, and historical approaches to contemporary global issues.
