Lauren Brown is the director of special projects at Quartz. She develops high-concept, ambitious journalistic projects and is responsible for coordinating the editorial, design, and marketing efforts behind them. She's one of Quartz's founding editors and was previously, Quartz's first deputy Ideas editor. Before her tenure at Quartz, she worked at Business Insider as their contributors' editor. Most recently, she was the Contributors Editor at Business Insider where she oversaw all contributors and syndication partnerships and was responsible for an overhaul of the entire program. Lauren received her master’s from Columbia’s School of Journalism where she specialized in digital media. She also worked for WorldNow, Wiley and was a contributing writer for Movmnt Magazine. She received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University where she majored in English and History.
