These models should last long, use little energy, and make sure your dishes are actually clean and dry

If you’re in the market for a new dishwasher, look no further.
Experts from Consumer Reports and Reader's Digest ranked the best dishwashers based on extensive testing of more than 100 models. The outlets analyzed basics like washing, drying, and ease of use, and other factors like energy efficiency, noise, and cycle time.
“The best dishwashers can get dishes squeaky clean and almost completely dry while using minimal water and energy. They also run quietly enough that you forget they’re running at all,” Consumer Reports said.

Price: $2,000 - $2,716
Bosch’s Benchmark model scored exceptionally well, but does come at the highest price. It’s extremely quiet, Wi-Fi-enabled, and has adjustable racks. Bosch itself also has high-scores for reliability and Consumer Reports customer satisfaction.
Price: $1,549 - $2,104
The 800 Series won praise from Consumer Reports for having three racks, being Wi-Fi-enabled, and the ability to customize your wash using its app. It’s also energy efficient and washes and dries really well, Consumer Reports said. Reader's Digest called it the best dishwasher for large families.
Price: $1,100 - $1200
Another high-rated Bosch that’s a little more affordable, this Bosch 300 series won praise from both Consumer Reports and Reader's Digest for its washing, energy noise, and quiet operations. Reader's Digest called it the best overall choice, but Consumer Reports did have a few complaints about how it dries plastic.
Price: $2200
Mieles are expensive, but a great pick if you’re looking for a model unlikely to have issues as the years pass, Consumer Reports said. This model scored well for its performance and lack of noise, though Consumer Reports called its drying “middling.”
Price: $1,295 - $1,548
Consumer Reports said it struggled to find “anything to criticize” about the LG Studio’s performance. It even has a special wash zone meant to clean water bottles.
Price: $1,269 - $1,700
One of the more affordable models on Consumer Reports's list (yes, even with a starting price of more than $1,200), Consumer Reports praised the 500 series for energy-efficiency and ease of use. It also likes that the door automatically opens after a cycle to release moisture.

Reader's Digest called the Frigidaire Front Control Dishwasher the best budget pick, saying it washes dishes very well for a significantly lower price than competitors. It's one complaint was that it doesn't have as many buttons or settings as fancier dishwashers.

Reader's Digest called this the best countertop dishwasher, perfect for kitchens that have room for a built-in dishwasher or renters who want a dishwasher but don't live in an apartment with one. It warned that the faucet adapter doesn't work for everyone, so some buyers might need to get an additional part.

The GE Cafe Top Control Smart Dishwasher was Reader's Digest pick for quietest dishwasher. It liked that the model had a third rack, looks "stylish," and connects to WiFi. It warned that the rack wheels "aren't the smoothest," though.
