After nearly a year as a fugitive, Lee faces justice while his two young children are back with family
Camron Lee, wanted in connection with the 2024 death of his partner in Sacramento, was arrested in Mexico and his two missing children have been recovered, according to CBS News Sacramento.
According to the FBI, Lee was apprehended in Mexico on May 17, with jail records in San Diego County reflecting his custody as of early Tuesday. Investigators had believed he crossed into Mexico in July 2024, making that country his base for nearly a year.
Lee had been sought by Sacramento police for questioning in the killing of Angelica Bravo, 28. The couple's two children, Athena and Mateo, disappeared alongside Lee after Bravo died, but were recovered when he was taken into custody. Their grandmother has since taken them in.
The breakthrough stemmed from a tip spurred by a $50,000 reward the FBI had put forward in December 2025, offering the money to anyone who could help locate Lee and the children. "Today's announcement highlights the impact of the FBI's reward program. A single tip brought a fugitive to justice for his alleged crime and reunited a family," FBI Sacramento Special Agent in Charge Sid Patel said, according to CBS News Sacramento.
A press conference was set for Tuesday morning, with the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office expected to share further information about where the case stands.
