Not only is Katsushika Hokusai’s “Thirty-six views of Mount Fuji” series one of the most famous works of art ever produced, it’s also one of a relatively small group of masterpieces that can be privately owned. The original works were produced in the 19th century as a series of cheap, woodblock prints — though relatively few high-quality prints still remain. This print is worth an estimated $500,000 to $700,000. It will be available for sale on September 17.
One of the “finest ever” Topps Roberto Clemente baseball cards, this piece from 1955 was made during the legendary athlete’s rookie season. The card, which is considered to be in mint condition, is from a limited set of cards. Bidding for the card will start at $400,000 on September 24.
This 1933 Lou Gehrig baseball card commemorates the iconic player’s 11th season in the majors. The card, manufactured by Goudey Gum, is from a set that’s acclaimed among baseball card collectors. Bidding starts at $55,000 on September 24.
This full-size, studio-made reproduction of the iconic Central Perk couch will allow you to live out your “Friends” fantasies in real life. The couch was initially valued at $3,000 but bidding has already reached $8,000 at Julien’s Friends: The One With the 30th Anniversary Auction. Bidding is expected to close on September 23.
This sweater is perfect for anyone who ever dreamed of getting The Rachel haircut. This gray mohair sweater was worn by Jennifer Aniston in Season 7, Episode 16 of “Friends.” The piece was initially valued at $1,500 but bids have already reached $4,000. Bidding is expected to close on September 23.
John Singer Sargent, one of the greatest portraitists of the 19th and 20th centuries, created this charcoal drawing of Gladys de Portal Kingsmill in 1919. Worth an estimated $30,000 to $50,000, the portrait will be sold at Swann Auction Galleries’ American Art sale on September 19.
This sea green Birkin bag is the most valuable of the dozens of Hermès pieces available at Sotheby’s September handbags and accessories sale. The 2023 alligator bag is worth an estimated $75,000 to $90,000. Bidding is scheduled to close on September 20.
This internally flawless eight karat diamond is set in a platinum band and surrounded by a series of smaller diamonds. Worth an estimated $250,000 to $350,000, bidding on this diamond ring closes on September 20.
This series of ten signed Andy Warhol screenprints will be available at Sotheby’s Prints and Multiples sale on September 18. The set, which was part of a larger Warhol project, is worth an estimated £1 to £1.5 million ($1.32 to $1.98 million.)
Pablo Picasso gifted this 1958 artists’ print to an “esteemed psychiatrist” in the 1960s. One of approximately 15 artist’s proofs, the print is worth an estimated £200,000 to £300,000 ($264,115 to $396,172.) The piece will be available at Sotheby’s Prints and Multiples sale on September 18.
