A 35-year-old Chester, N.J. resident was found dead inside a Pottersville Road home on June 6, with authorities ruling the death a homicide, according to nj.com.
According to nj.com, a 911 call brought officers to the Pottersville Road address on the afternoon of June 6, where they found the resident dead upon arrival. An examination by the Morris County Medical Examiner's Office found that the victim had been subjected to multiple sharp force injuries, a finding that led to the death being ruled a homicide, according to nj.com.
The Morris County Prosecutor's Office announced the homicide finding on Saturday. In a statement posted to Facebook $META, the Chester Police Department called the death a "tragic incident" and extended condolences to those close to the victim, according to nj.com. The department also affirmed that protecting the community was its foremost concern.
"We are committed to a thorough and professional investigation and will continue to work closely with our law enforcement partners," the department said.
