Alphanso Talley, 26, faces first-degree murder and multiple other felony charges after prosecutors say he shot two Chicago police officers at Swedish Hospital on April 25, killing one and critically wounding the other, according to CBS News Chicago.
John Bartholomew, a 38-year-old who had served the Albany Park District for a decade, suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. The second officer, 57, with 21 years on the force, sustained a gunshot wound to the chin. Though initially critical, he later showed improvement and was able to communicate through body cues, according to CBS News Chicago.
