  • We could be about to see how seriously Facebook takes its fight against fake news. Serious enough to go against the government of one of the most powerful countries on Earth?

  • This article has not come a day sooner. I have no recollection as any Indian PM, and I have heard and touched the feet of Jawaharlal Nehru and speak with certain perspective, had gone to such lengths to have himself reelected. Some may point fingers on Indira Gandhi but she was no egoist in any way compared

This article has not come a day sooner. I have no recollection as any Indian PM, and I have heard and touched the feet of Jawaharlal Nehru and speak with certain perspective, had gone to such lengths to have himself reelected. Some may point fingers on Indira Gandhi but she was no egoist in any way compared to PM Modi. I have read of dictators on European and South American countries who conducted sham elections where they made people on pain of death to vote as dictated.

Is it not surprising that two people and one intellectual spokesperson has a country of 130 billion people by their short hairs? It is not time yet to write how they did it? But they have done. I'm the welter of criticism here and there there has been no stopping them. If we go by the 4 pillars of democracy - the executive (none dare challenge the duo because their prestige and pelf comes from them), the bureaucracy (nothing great, it is in their blood to implement what the executive says, no questions asked), the judiciary (they are more interested in their privileges, their promotions and pelf) and the media (remember the famous quip of Advani " when asked to bend, they crawled).

The damage done to the idea of India has been vast. It will take many years to erase and overcome.
