Crumbl Cookies introduced a Cherry Bomb Cookie featuring Golden Oreo crumbles this week, timed to the Fourth of July holiday. The cookie is available through July 4 as part of the chain's Red, White, and Blue menu, which launched June 29.
Lime, cherry, and blue raspberry cream cheese frostings are swirled across the top of the new item, which uses a chilled vanilla cookie rolled in Golden Oreo crumbles as its base, according to Allrecipes. The cookie draws inspiration from a limited-edition Oreo product called the Firecracker Pop, which sandwiches Bomb Pop-flavored crème between golden wafers.
The Cherry Bomb is one of several new items on the week's menu. Three additional cookies are making their debut this week — the Campfire Skillet Cookie, Caramel Apple $AAPL Crisp Cookie, and Summer Berry Tart Cookie. Back on the menu by popular demand are the Strawberry Shortcake and Cornbread Cookie, while perennial staples — among them the Chocolate Chip Cookie, Sugar Cookie, and Brownie Batter Cookie — remain available as well.
Shoppers can also pick up a "4th of July Bundl" — a gift-ready assortment that comes dressed in holiday packaging and is sold in six- or 12-count boxes, with buyers choosing between large and mini formats.
The holiday promotion comes as Crumbl navigates a leadership transition. The chain's co-founders, who stepped away from daily operations earlier this year, include Jason McGowan as CEO, Sawyer Hemsley as chief brand officer, and a third executive as CTO. All three are retaining board seats while the company conducts an open search for outside executives to fill their roles. McGowan and Hemsley, who are cousins, founded the company in Utah in 2017. Crumbl now operates more than 1,100 locations.
Per-location sales volumes have softened in recent years, dropping 16% last year, though average unit volumes remain at $1.14 million — above what competing cookie chains generate per location. The company has also reduced its corporate workforce, cutting roughly one in ten positions last year.
