Before putting the deal to bed, the 24-year-old underwent his medical examination in Amsterdam. Earlier reports had put the price of sanctioning his exit at roughly £50 million, though the clubs ultimately settled on a structure of £55 million with a further £5 million in potential add-ons, according to The Times.
Tied to West Ham through 2029, Summerville nonetheless became one of the club's most coveted assets after their drop into the Championship. Among the suitors, Roma tabled an offer of €46 million, while Manchester United and Aston Villa also registered interest — though Al Hilal ultimately won the race, according to The Times.
