Dairy Queen is launching three new Blizzard flavors tied to the FIFA World Cup and a limited-time patriotic frozen float marking America's 250th birthday, with both available at participating U.S. locations starting June 29, the company said.
Grouped under the Blizzard Cup Lineup name, the three new offerings each draw on a distinct culinary tradition: a Strawberry Mango-flavored Mochi Blizzard Treat pairs mango mochi pieces with strawberry topping; a Biscoff Cookie Blizzard Treat leans on the caramelized crunch of Biscoff cookies; and a Mexican-style Hot Chocolate made with Abuelita Blizzard Treat brings together Abuelita Mexican Hot Chocolate Mix, chocolate chunks, fudge-covered marshmallows, and cocoa fudge — each version finished with DQ's signature soft serve. The company said the flavors were inspired by what it called "the excitement of the biggest soccer stage."
The Stars & Stripes Misty Slush Float rounds out the summer rollout as a nod to the country's semiquincentennial, stacking Cherry Misty Slush and blue raspberry Misty Slush around a core of soft serve and finishing with star sprinkles. Priced at $2.50 for a small, it is on the menu from June 29 through July 5.
The releases are accompanied by a sweepstakes open to DQ Rewards members through the DQ mobile app. From June 29 through July 26, members can earn three sweepstakes entries for each Blizzard Cup Lineup flavor purchased, and 15 bonus entries for buying all three. Each Blizzard Cup Lineup purchase nets a DQ Rewards member three sweepstakes entries, and buying all three flavors unlocks 15 additional bonus entries on top of that. Purchasing the Stars & Stripes float during its availability window earns members 250 bonus DQ points and three additional sweepstakes entries. The top prize is a six-night trip for two valued at $12,400, the company said. The sweepstakes excludes Texas residents.
Food brands have used the World Cup, which is being held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico this summer, as a hook for limited-time promotions. McDonald's $MCD launched FIFA World Cup 26 meals featuring collectible cups and Squishmallows toys, while Baskin-Robbins introduced a limited-edition June flavor called Fútbol Fireworks tied to the tournament.
Customers at participating U.S. locations can pick up any of the new items in-store, or place orders through the DQ website or mobile app, according to the company. The Blizzard flavors are available for a limited time, while the float runs through July 5.
