Authorities in Lexington, South Carolina, have confirmed the identification of a body discovered this week as Elena Katherine Moore, a 39-year-old personal trainer who had been missing since June 11, according to NBC News.

On the evening she disappeared, Moore had checked into the Planet Fitness at 560 Whiteford Way in Lexington. Security cameras later captured her in the parking lot of a neighboring Publix at 9:17 p.m., moving in the direction of Old Cherokee Road; she was dressed in an olive-green zip-up hoodie and black athletic pants, according to ABC News. She was reported missing the following day.

A tip directed investigators to the area of Old Cherokee Road and North Lake Drive, where the body was found June 18; the tipster had reported seeing Moore there on the night she went missing. Chief Green told reporters that clothing matching Moore's description provided an initial basis for the identification, and he credited news coverage of the case with bringing the tip forward, according to NBC News.

On Friday, the Lexington County Coroner's Office announced it had confirmed who the body was, adding that a Saturday autopsy had been arranged and that a further update would come Monday. Neither the cause nor the manner of death had been disclosed, according to NBC News.

When asked about the possibility of foul play, Green offered no answer, pointing to the ongoing investigation. Responsibility for examining the death has been handed to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, he said.

Moore was a personal trainer at Wolf's Fitness Center in Lexington, according to ABC News. Lexington is a city of roughly 23,000 located west of Columbia.
