South Africa agreed to an appeal against Oscar Pistorius. The Supreme Court said it will hear the state’s appeal against the six-year murder sentence of Paralympic gold medallist Oscar Pistorius, who shot and killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in 2013. The state maintains that the sentence is too lenient; rights groups have protested that Pistorius got preferential treatment for being a white male and a celebrity.
