A Black Friday Preview
It used to be that Black Friday, the day when retailer accounting books would go “into the black” for the year and annual profits would start piling up, was just a day. But now it’s a full-fledged shopping season that kicks off the broader holiday season crush. This year, Black Friday is a hybrid IRL/URL experience that will usher in nearly $1 trillion in spending this year.
While you’re out (or just online) shopping, look for an explainer from Quartz’s Francisco Velasquez about the current state of Black Friday.
