Good morning, Quartz readers!
(For real this time. Apologies for the misfired email earlier—we are updating our publishing system and had a small glitch.)
What to watch for today
Primaries in Florida, Illinois, Missouri, North Carolina, and Ohio. All eyes will be on Republican front-runner Donald Trump as he battles Marco Rubio in Florida and John Kasich in Ohio. Hillary Clinton is expected to clinch Florida and North Carolina.
Mother Teresa is to become a saint. Pope Francis is expected to sign a decree approving her canonization and set the time and place for it to happen.
Oracle reports its latest quarterly figures. The tech giant is expected to post revenue slightly below Wall Street’s estimates due to falling sales of licensed software and a strong US dollar.
While you were sleeping
Vladimir Putin began withdrawing Russian troops from Syria. The Russian president said his armed forces’ mission had largely been accomplished, which would suggest that the Russian intervention has turned the tide in president Bashar al-Assad’s favor. The surprise move comes as Syrian peace talks resumed in Geneva yesterday.
Myanmar elected a new president. Htin Kyaw has been confirmed as the country’s first civilian president in 50 years. The 70-year-old is a close friend of Nobel-prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi, who is banned from serving as head of state under the current constitution.
A tasty merger for cocktail enthusiasts. Campari bought the Grand Marnier group in a deal that values the 150-year-old French cognac maker at $760 million. The Italian company will get 20% of Grand Marnier’s shares now and acquire a 28.8% stake currently held by family shareholders from 2021. Campari shares rose by 1.8 % in Milan.
The former Brazilian president took a government post. Luíz Inácio Lula da Silva is reported to have accepted a ministerial role in beleaguered president Dilma Rousseff’s government. This would give him legal protection in the ongoing corruption probe against him.
Sony bought Michael Jackson’s stake in a music publisher for $750 million. The late pop star’s estate had a 50% stake in Sony/ATV Music Publishing. Sony will consolidate its control of a catalog that includes nearly four million songs by artists including The Beatles, Bob Dylan, and Taylor Swift.
A Norwegian mass murderer returned to court. Anders Breivik is suing the government for violating his human rights by holding him in solitary confinement. Breivik, who gave the Nazi salute on his arrival in the courtroom, was jailed for 21 years for killing 77 people in central Oslo and at a youth camp in 2011.

Madeline E. Heilman on why women get less credit in the workplace. “In study after study, we have found that female as well as male evaluators attribute less credit to women than men for teamwork. Women, along with men, devalue the contributions of other women.” Read more here.
