What to watch for today
Scotland tries to cut a deal with the EU. First minister Nicola Sturgeon travels to Brussels to meet with European parliamentary leaders, despite being snubbed by European Council president Donald Tusk. Scotland voted overwhelmingly against Brexit, and Sturgeon has proposed another referendum for Scotland to leave the UK.
India tests a new missile. Weather permitting, India will fire a surface-to-air missile developed in conjunction with Israel at the Integrated Test Range, a defense base off the Odisha coast. The launch will be overseen by India’s defense ministry and Israel Aerospace Industries.
The world’s largest uncut diamond goes on sale. Sotheby’s in London will auction off a 1,109 carat diamond about the size of a tennis ball. Typically these sales are made privately to industry buyers, but the gem could fetch more money in an open auction.

Terrorists attacked the Istanbul airport. At least 28 people were killed and dozens were injured after two explosions ripped through one of the world’s busiest international airports. The attackers’ affiliation is not yet known, but Turkey has suffered a series of bombings by the Islamic State and Kurdish separatist groups in recent months.
Line priced its IPO… The messaging app, especially popular in Japan, is selling 35 million shares in Tokyo and New York next month at ¥2,700 to ¥3,200 ($26.50 to $31.50) per share. The IPO could raise up to $1.09 billion, which would make it the biggest technology listing of 2016 so far.
… And Airbnb started raising funds at a $30 billion valuation. The current funding round, if completed, would bump Airbnb ahead of Chinese ride-hailing giant Didi Chuxing as the world’s third-most valuable tech startup. Airbnb, which has 2 million listings in nearly 200 countries, wants to expand globally and target business travelers.
Ikea recalled 29 million dressers after the deaths of three toddlers. The low-cost furniture maker announced a massive US recall to address the risk that top-heavy furniture could tip over. Three deaths and 39 injuries to young children have been reported to safety regulators.
Labour MPs dealt a blow to Jeremy Corbyn. The embattled Labour leader lost a no-confidence vote by a 172-40 margin, after detractors accused him giving only tepid support to the “Remain” campaign. Corbyn vowed to remain despite the vote, which is non-binding.
