The 5 states where gas is cheapest — and the 5 where it's most expensive

AAA data reveals there's almost a $2 difference in the price per gallon of gas in the most and least expensive states.

Electric vehicles make up less than 2% of all the cars on the road, meaning the vast majority of Americans are still thinking about gas prices.

Gas currently costs an average of $3.162 a gallon, according to AAA, but where you live can have a major effect on how much you're paying to fill up your tank.

AAA compiled data that reveals the states where gas is the cheapest and the priciest. Continue reading to see which states pay the most — and the least — at the pump. (Since most people are filling up their tank with regular gas, we're using those numbers for this article.)
