General Mills $GIS initiated a recall of nearly 736,000 Pillsbury frozen bread rolls in June over concerns that the products may contain glass fragments, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The recall covers two products: Pillsbury Bread Rolls "Hard Roll Dough" and Pillsbury Bread Rolls "Kaiser Roll Dough." The hard roll recall involves 3,080 cases of 180 units each, totaling 554,400 rolls, with a better-if-used-by date of Oct. 12, 2026. The kaiser roll recall covers 1,260 cases of 144 units each, totaling 181,440 rolls, with a better-if-used-by date of Oct. 13, 2026.
The affected products were shipped to retailers and food service operators in 19 states: Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wyoming.
The products appear to be aimed at food service businesses rather than individual consumers, according to CBS News. The description for the kaiser roll product on General Mills' website includes language about back-of-house preparation.
The recall was initiated on June 19. The hard roll and kaiser roll products carry recall numbers H-1154-2026 and H-1155-2026, respectively.
General Mills' broader brand portfolio includes Betty Crocker, Cheerios, Lucky Charms, and Nature Valley, according to CBS News.
