The Chinese stock market crash in August led to a bloodbath in global equity markets, including India’s.

While the gravity of the situation caused panic—and much grief—among investors and policy makers alike, cartoonists in India portrayed the crash in a lighter vein.

These artists took a dig at everything—from prime minister Narendra Modi’s delayed reforms to the skyrocketing price of onions in India—and linked it back to the massive slide in the stock market.
