Kidisle is recalling about 17,600 single-serve coffeemakers due to a burn hazard that has already resulted in at least 27 injuries, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

Kidisle is recalling about 17,600 single-serve coffeemakers due to a burn hazard that has already resulted in at least 27 injuries, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.
The recalled machines, model KC101B, can become clogged, causing hot liquid or steam to build up and release without warning during use, the CPSC said. The agency is aware of at least 107 reports of the coffeemakers releasing hot liquid or steam unexpectedly. The 27 reported injuries include first and second-degree burns that required medical treatment.
The recall covers Kidisle-branded hot and iced coffee machines sold in black, white, and gray. The single-serve units stand about 11 inches tall and six inches wide, feature a 50-ounce detachable water tank, and can brew six to 14 ounces of cupped or ground coffee. The model number KC101B appears on a sticker on the underside of the machine. Kidisle is based in China.
The CPSC is directing consumers to stop using the machines immediately and contact Kidisle for a full refund. To receive the refund, consumers must destroy the coffeemaker by unplugging it and cutting the power cord, write "Recalled" on it in permanent marker, and send a photo of the destroyed product — showing the model number and the cut cord — to [email protected].
