Authorities in northeastern Spain have taken Jonathan Andic into custody on suspicion that he was involved in the death of his father, Isak Andic, who founded the Spanish fashion label Mango, according to ABC News.

A Mossos d'Esquadra spokesperson confirmed that the 45-year-old was brought to a courthouse in Martorell, an eastern Spanish city where proceedings are underway, according to ABC News. Authorities have placed the matter under a nondisclosure order.

The elder Andic, who was 71, plunged roughly 150 meters off a cliff to his death in December 2024 during a mountain hike outside Barcelona — with his son the only person present. Investigators initially looked into the incident but dropped the case within weeks. A fresh inquiry was launched in March 2025, and by October police announced they were treating the death as a potential homicide, according to ABC News.

Jonathan Andic is the eldest of Isak Andic's three children and one of his father's heirs. He serves as vice chairman of the Mango board.

Having emigrated from Turkey to Spain with his family in childhood, Isak Andic launched Mango's debut store in Barcelona in 1984, building what would become a retail giant with a presence in 120 markets and 2,900 locations globally. The brand posted record revenue of nearly €3.8 billion ($4.4 billion) in 2025, up 11% year over year, according to ABC News.
