The diversity discussions overtaking HR offices reflect centuries of inequities and decades of slow progress in fixing them. These conversations are important, but they don’t tell the whole story of what happens when people of different races, genders, religions, sexual orientations, countries, political persuasions, or economic backgrounds come together in the pursuit of work.
