The change takes effect August 19 and removes the unlimited drinks feature that defined the subscription since its launch

Panera Bread is placing a 30-drink cap on its Sip Club subscription program, ending the unlimited redemptions that had been the program's defining feature. The new limit takes effect August 19, 2026.
Under the updated terms, each subscriber's drink redemptions will be capped at 30 per billing cycle. The program had previously permitted members to claim an eligible beverage once every two hours with no monthly ceiling. The two-hour interval between redemptions remains in place under the new rules, and unused redemptions will not carry over to the next billing period, Panera said.
The subscription's pricing structure remains the same, with Panera maintaining its existing rates of $14.99 per month plus tax or $119.99 per year plus tax. Eligible beverages include drip hot coffee, café blend iced coffee without customizations, hot tea, fountain soda, and select bubbler beverages. Energy Refreshers, smoothies, frozen blended drinks, espresso drinks, and specialty iced coffees remain excluded from the program.
Subscribers who enroll before August 19 will remain on the current unlimited terms until that date, at which point the new 30-drink cap will apply to all members, according to the updated FAQ page. Members can cancel at any time, but Panera does not offer refunds for unused portions of a subscription period.
The change has drawn criticism from some subscribers. Some members have pushed back on the new policy in online forums, according to Allrecipes. "Well, I'll be canceling my membership soon and won't give them any more money," one user wrote. "Once my Sip Club membership ends, I bet I'll never set foot in a Panera again," another added.
Panera's existing subscription terms give the company broad authority to revise the program. The membership agreement includes language stating that Panera "reserves the right to update, change, or modify" the terms at any time, and subscribers are not guaranteed advance notice before such changes take effect.
For members who hit the 30-drink limit before their billing cycle ends, redemptions will not reset until 12:01 AM CT on the start date of the next billing period, according to the updated terms and conditions.
