Paramount $PARA filed with the Federal Communications Commission this week seeking approval for the foreign investments backing its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, according to regulatory filings made public Monday.
Among the backers named in the filing are three Gulf sovereign wealth vehicles: PIF from Saudi Arabia, QIA from Qatar, and L'imad Holding Company from Abu Dhabi. The combined foreign stakes will fall just below the 50% threshold of Paramount's equity once the investments are finalized, though voting control will remain with the family of CEO David Ellison, the filing states.
