The Charlotte, North Carolina-based company said it had net income of 39 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and to account for discontinued operations, came to 77 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 63 cents per share.
The packaging company posted revenue of $1.38 billion in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.36 billion.
Sealed Air expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.75 to $2.95 per share, with revenue in the range of $5.4 billion to $5.6 billion.
