T-Mobile $TMUS launched a business internet service on April 28 that pairs its 5G network with SpaceX's Starlink satellite system as a backup, targeting companies in remote locations and enterprises operating across multiple sites.

The offering, called SuperBroadband, uses two independent connectivity pathways — 5G and Starlink — to maintain uptime during outages. T-Mobile said the service is the first nationwide broadband product to cover every ZIP code in the U.S., with Starlink's low-Earth orbit satellite network extending reach beyond the footprint of T-Mobile's 5G infrastructure.

The company said SuperBroadband is delivered as a fully managed service under a single contract and single bill, with a financially backed 99.99% uptime guarantee available in areas covered by both 5G and Starlink. Downtime losses average more than $100,000 per hour across industries, the company said, citing a September 2024 IDC study.

André Almeida, T-Mobile's president of growth and emerging businesses, said in a statement that "connectivity shouldn't stop where your business starts," describing the service as designed to remove complexity from enterprise network management. Jason Fritch, VP of Starlink enterprise sales at SpaceX, said in a statement that setup is quick and that combining 5G with Starlink "keeps operations running when other paths fail."

The service uses Ericsson Cradlepoint routers and outdoor adapters managed through Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions' NetCloud Manager platform. T-Mobile said it also plans to expand its equipment ecosystem to include Inseego. Installation and field services are handled by Acuative. Businesses can monitor deployments through T-Platform, T-Mobile's centralized management portal.

T-Mobile said early adopters include companies in hospitality, retail, healthcare, and oil and gas. Aramark Destinations CIO Dimple Jethani said in a statement that connectivity across the company's destinations — many in remote environments — "has traditionally been inconsistent and difficult to scale," and that SuperBroadband offers a "resilient, always-on foundation."

According to Reuters, the launch is part of T-Mobile's effort to grow its enterprise customer base as competition among U.S. wireless carriers intensifies. Pricing was not announced, with Almeida indicating to Reuters that costs would depend on a customer's location and how much bandwidth they require. SuperBroadband builds on a broader commercial relationship between T-Mobile and SpaceX, the same partnership behind T-Satellite, the carrier's satellite-to-cell service.
