Target $TGT is recalling approximately 211,000 Cat & Jack Toddler Girls' Sequerah Sandals after the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission determined that decorative pearls on the shoes can detach, creating a choking hazard that poses a risk of serious injury or death.

The Minneapolis-based retailer and the CPSC announced the voluntary recall on Thursday. The company says 23 instances of pearl detachment have been reported, with no resulting injuries.

The recalled sandals come in tan and are designed with raffia straps adorned with plastic pearls and gold buckles. The Cat & Jack label appears stamped on the underside of each shoe. The sandals were sold in sizes 5T through 12T at Target stores and on the retailer's website from January through May 2026 for about $22, according to ABC News. The shoes were made in Cambodia, according to ABC News.

The company is urging anyone with these sandals to immediately set them aside and ensure children cannot access them. Target is providing complete refunds; shoppers may bring the footwear to a store location or mail them back through a prepaid return label.

"At Target, we're committed to providing safe, high-quality products for our guests," a company spokesperson said in a statement. "Target has voluntarily recalled Cat & Jack toddler girls tan 'Sequerah' footbed sandals."

To inquire about the recall, shoppers may dial the toll-free number 800-591-3869, available daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. CT, or visit www.target.com/help/articles/news-safety/product-recalls online.
