Total Nutrition Inc. says no illnesses have been linked to the recalled lots, which were distributed through major online retail platforms nationwide

Total Nutrition Inc. voluntarily recalled two TNVitamins organic moringa products after its supplier identified a possible salmonella contamination in the raw moringa ingredient. As of the recall announcement, no illnesses have been reported that the company has linked to the affected products.
The affected products are TNVitamins 100% Organic Moringa 1,200 mg Capsules (Product No. AB9917, Lot 2800, expiration Feb. 2028) and TNVitamins 100% Organic Moringa Powder (Product No. AB9904, Lot 2782, expiration May 2028). Retail channels for the recalled lots included Amazon $AMZN, Walmart $WMT, Target $TGT, TikTok Shop, and TNVitamins' own website, according to the company.
Anyone who bought the affected lots is advised to discard the products right away and refrain from consuming, selling, or serving them. Lot numbers are printed on the bottom of the bottle and near the barcode on the label. Items carrying lot numbers other than those specified in the recall notice fall outside the scope of this action.
Young children, older adults, and immunocompromised individuals face the greatest risk of severe or potentially life-threatening illness from salmonella exposure. For otherwise healthy adults, a salmonella infection generally produces a cluster of gastrointestinal symptoms — diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and stomach cramps — along with fever. When the bacteria enters the bloodstream — an uncommon but documented complication — it can trigger serious secondary conditions such as arterial infections, endocarditis, and arthritis.
This recall is separate from — though related to — a broader salmonella outbreak investigation involving moringa-based supplements. The TNVitamins recall is an expansion of an ongoing multistate outbreak probe in which the FDA and CDC have linked 119 illnesses and 32 hospitalizations across 36 states to dietary supplements containing moringa leaf powder, with cases dating back to Aug. 2025. Earlier in that investigation, Total Nutrition Inc. separately recalled several lots of its TNVitamins Ultra Potent Complete Green Superfood Moringa capsules and Doctor's Pride-brand moringa capsules, also over salmonella concerns. Other brands implicated in the wider outbreak include Live it Up and Why Not Natural.
