Trader Joe's is releasing six limited-edition insulated mini tote bags nationwide on May 20, priced at $3.99 each.
Dubbed the Summer Fun Mini Insulated Totes, the bags measure 10 x 6 x 6 inches, accommodate up to 1.5 gallons, and close with a zipper top; two reinforced handles complete the design. Availability is limited to in-store stock on hand.
Among the six designs, shoppers will find a pair of striped options — one combining red and pink, the other blue and green — alongside four bags that depict a Trader Joe's storefront framed by palm trees, rendered in green, orange, blue, and purple colorways.
"Just be sure to pick up a Tote while you can — supplies are limited," a Trader Joe's spokesperson told People.
This is not the grocer's first foray into insulated mini totes. A 2024 iteration carried the same storefront silhouette, printed in black against teal and magenta backgrounds; within a single day of hitting shelves, stock had been depleted at many locations, according to USA Today. Pairs of the bags turned up on resale platforms at prices reaching $155, a practice the chain publicly distanced itself from, reiterating that reselling its merchandise is not something it supports.
The insulated bags are the latest addition to Trader Joe's broader tote lineup, which has attracted a following since the Mini Canvas Tote Bags first went viral in March 2024. At $2.99 apiece, they vanished from shelves almost immediately, and secondary-market listings on eBay climbed as high as $999.99 for a four-color set. Every follow-up drop — a Halloween edition, a spring pastel run, and a shrunken micro variant — triggered queues outside stores and rapid sell-throughs. A striped mini canvas tote is also in the pipeline for summer, though the retailer has yet to share a launch date or price point.
Separately, a new lavender colorway of the $8.99 reusable insulated bag has quietly made its way onto store shelves, USA Today reported.
