BetUS is celebrating the day of love by forming a Rat basketball team. And if you've been through a bad breakup, you can help choose the player names

For many people, Valentine's Day is filled with flowers, candlelight dinners, and romance. For others, it's a day of spite, spent cursing their exes. This year, however, those nursing a broken heart as we close in on Valentine's Day can stick a different sort of arrow in Cupid's quiver.
Online gambling site BetUS, for the second year in a row, is letting people name a New York City rat after their toxic ex. For $15 you can give a rat your ex’s name and then draft them onto your All-Star rat basketball league team. The entry form also asks for a story about your ex – and feel free to vent here. The five best stories will be drafted for the starting five players.
“They say the opposite of love isn’t hate — it’s indifference. So this Valentine’s Day, make your love or hate loud and clear by naming one of our nibbling, dribbling rodents after your ex," said Andres Vargas, head of content editor at BetUS. "Turn your messy memories into something unforgettable. Transform your dating disasters into an All-Star draft pick, where every squeak, dribble, and whistle-blow reflects the drama they left behind giving your ex the legacy they deserve.”
BetUS isn't the only company that's letting people who went through bad breakups get a bit of innocent revenge on Valentine's Day, but most of the other choices have philanthropic cores. For the past two years, a Michigan animal shelter called Heaven Can Wait Animal Haven has let people “neuter [their] ex” for just $25. (The shelter would name a feral cat after your ex, then sterilize them before returning them to their colonies.)
Heaven Can Wait hasn't announced whether it will offer that promotion again this year. But, either way, it's still no rat basketball.
