New disclosures show more than 3,700 transactions in the first three months of 2026, with several trades timed near favorable regulatory decisions

Vice President JD Vance said Tuesday that there is nothing suspicious about President Donald Trump's recent trading disclosures, claiming Trump had nothing to do with the more than 3,700 transactions made under his name in the opening three months of 2026.
"The president doesn't sit at the Oval Office on his computer on his Robinhood account, buying and selling stocks," Vance told reporters, according to CNBC. "He has independent wealth advisors who manage his money. He is a wealthy person. He has had success in business."
In a statement, a Trump Organization spokesperson attributed all trading activity to automated systems run by outside financial institutions, asserting that the president and his family are entirely removed from investment decisions and are given no prior notification of any trades. Separately, White House spokesman Davis Ingle issued a statement declaring that Trump's assets are held in a trust overseen by his children and that no conflicts of interest exist.
One reporter noted that Trump had publicly promoted a number of the companies that appear in the trading disclosures, including in social media posts where he named their stock ticker symbols. Palantir $PLTR Technologies was among the examples raised. Records show Trump accumulated at least $260,000 in Palantir stock over the first quarter, and the following month — as the company's shares were coming off their steepest weekly decline in over a year — Trump took to Truth Social to tout its battlefield capabilities by name, ticker symbol included.
The filings, which Trump submitted to the Office of Government Ethics on last week, also showed purchases of Nvidia $NVDA stock valued between $1 million and $5 million on Feb. 10, a week before Nvidia announced a processing-power deal with Meta $META. An earlier Nvidia purchase of $500,000 to $1 million on Jan. 6 came roughly a week before the Commerce Department approved exports of certain Nvidia chips to China, according to NOTUS. A Feb. 10 purchase of Axon shares — the Taser manufacturer — valued at between $1 million and $5 million preceded an announcement two weeks later in which ICE said it intended to buy approximately 17,800 Tasers at a total cost of $220 million spread over five years.
Confronted with the apparent tension between his longstanding calls to prohibit stock trading by government officials and the disclosures about Trump's own activity, Vance did not back away from his views.
"All of us believe that nobody should be taking proprietary information gained from public service and buying and selling stocks," he said.
Vance said that the proper response was to outlaw the practice entirely, and that the president had already put forward a proposal.
At his most recent State of the Union, Trump had made a point of calling out the issue himself, telling lawmakers: "Let's also ensure that members of Congress cannot corruptly profit from using insider information."
