At least one person was killed and several others sustained life-threatening injuries after a vehicle plowed into bystanders at Berlin Pride on Saturday near the Brandenburg Gate, city police announced, according to CNN.
The attack took place in Tiergarten, Berlin's central park, police announced via X $TWTR, adding that a manhunt was underway. "We are searching intensively for suspects," police said, according to CNN.
According to CNN, the tabloid Bild reported that an eyewitness described a white van accelerating into the crowd before the driver jumped out and ran away on foot. Scores of emergency vehicles converged on the area. Bild additionally reported, citing police, that the attack had claimed at least one life, according to CNN.
