Parts of New York City have gone dark and many of the streets of lower Manhattan have flooded. Here’s a look at what’s happening on the ground.

And below, a video of explosions at what is said to be the ConEd substation at East 14th St and FDR drive. There are blasts at 0:25 minutes, 3:16, and 3:32. (h/t @chrishughes). According to CNBC’s John Carney, at around 11.20pm on Oct. 29 ConEd was saying that 670,000 people were without power in New York City, and 230,000 of them lost it due to a substation explosion, which could be this one.
