Every year since 2008, Pew Research has asked citizens of various countries the same question: “Today, which ONE of the following do you think is the world’s leading economic power? The United States, China, Japan, or the countries of the European Union?”
In every country surveyed, the top answer has always been the US or China. Back in 2008, most countries, including China, said the US. But this year, most countries say the economic superpower is China. (China still says it’s the US.)
