Many brands try really hard to be cheeky on April Fools’ Day. Many of them fail.

But Snapchat managed to come through with a quiet prank than doubled as a sick burn.

On April 1, the company added a filter that made your snap look like an Instagram post liked by your mom. Or, to be specific, “my_mom” and just two other people.

Some saw this a Snapchat’s attempt to poke fun at Instagram over the similarities between Instagram’s newly added disappearing “stories” function and Snapchat’s entire modus operandi.

Ouch.
