The supplier of performance lithium compounds posted revenue of $181.8 million in the period, also missing Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $219.1 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $330.1 million, or $1.58 per share. Revenue was reported as $882.5 million.

In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, the company's shares hit $4.65. A year ago, they were trading at $23.33.
