Krispy Kreme introduced a Girl Scout Cookie-inspired doughnut collection on Monday in partnership with Girl Scouts of the USA, with three new varieties available at participating shops nationwide for a limited time.
The collection, called the Girl Scout Cookie Inspired Dozen, features a Thin Mints Doughnut, a Lemon-Ups Doughnut, and a Coconut Caramel Doughnut. Dark chocolate chips and Thin Mints cookie crumbles sit atop an Original Glazed doughnut that has been dipped in chocolate icing, with the whole thing finished off by a drizzle of mint green icing. For the Lemon-Ups variety, a lemon-inspired design tops an unglazed shell doughnut whose interior is packed with Lemon Crisp Kreme filling and whose exterior is coated in lemon-flavored icing. Rounding out the trio, the Coconut Caramel Doughnut layers coconut and caramel over a chocolate-iced Original Glazed doughnut, the company said.
The themed box holds three doughnuts of each new flavor plus three Original Glazed doughnuts and can be purchased as a complete dozen or broken out into individual orders. Retail locations including Walmart $WMT, Target $TGT, Albertsons, and Kroger will carry a limited-edition six-pack option pairing three Thin Mints Doughnuts with three Original Glazed doughnuts, according to Allrecipes. The full collection is also available for pickup or delivery through the Krispy Kreme app and website, the company said.
"Girl Scout Cookie flavors are iconic for a reason," Alison Holder, chief brand and product officer at Krispy Kreme, said in a statement. "Reimagining them as doughnuts is a fun way to bring those familiar favorites to fans in a completely new and truly irresistible way."
The Girl Scout Cookie launch follows a string of limited-edition promotions from the chain. Krispy Kreme released a Fourth of July collection tied to the 250th anniversary of American independence earlier this month, featuring two new doughnuts and a discounted Original Glazed dozen priced at $2.50. Before that, the chain offered a free doughnut to every customer on National Doughnut Day on June 5, with no purchase required, and launched a soccer-themed Match Day Dozen tied to FIFA World Cup matches.
